Starting in the heart of Viking Dublin with the old city walls, our odyssey takes in a rare relic of Elizabethan Dublin, moving on to redbrick Georgian Dublin, to end at St Stephen’s Green with a little-known gallery of Irish marble.

Ask about our special group and schools deal, which includes the full text of the commentary.

Highlights

The hour of commentary covers the city streets, from cobblestones and ‘crows feet’, to antique windows and vintage railings. We look at statues, sculpture and stones, and even some jewellery. Charles Stewart Parnell’s cobblestones, and how Dublin was bricked up in the 1700s, are just some of the stories you’ll hear on this geology walking tour. And all to the delighful accompaniment of Noel Purcell singing ‘Dublin Can Be Heaven’.
